RBT/ Behavioral Interventionist – Newark

Our Behavior Interventionist strive to strengthen the lives of children diagnosed with ASD. Behavioral Interventionist provides direct therapeutic support for children primarily ages from 18 months and up to 8 years old with developmental delays under the direction of a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, BCBA, and Program Supervisors.

RBT/ Behavioral Interventionist Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required – BA/BS in Psychology, education, child development or related field preferred
  • BCAT/RBT certification required. SIGNING BONUS!
  • Clear FBI/ DOJ background check
  • Experience and passion working with children
  • Reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance and valid driver’s license

RBT/ Behavioral Interventionist Responsibilities:

  • Implement programs based on ABA principals increasing communication, self-help, social and play skills
  • Traveling to client’s homes/community-settings as required to provide services
  • Manage challenging behaviors that may occur
  • Maintaining client confidentiality
  • Collect and record data in real time
  • Communicate with parents and supervisors about child’s progress

RBT/ Behavior Interventionist Physical Requirements:

  • Physical Competence/Health Screening required.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time, stand for up to 6-8 hours a day.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, twisting in order to observe, assess, interact with clients.
  • Occasional sitting and maintaining close visual attention to write reports and work at the computer.
  • Ability to physically implement behavior management strategies /responding to physically aggressive behavior.
  • Frequent driving (to and from office and/or client homes).
  • Possible occasional lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading toys and materials up to and including 25 lbs. to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent exposure to disability disorders in clients
  • Frequent work inside client homes; possible work in outdoor settings.
